Jesus and the “seven miracles” (turning water into wine, healing the nobleman’s son, healing the man at Bethesda, feeding the five thousand, walking on the water, healing the blind man, and the raising of Lazarus), which demonstrate the unique person of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. Many other theological themes present themselves in this Gospel, such as the clear choice to accept or reject Christ. This decision, placed before every individual, permeates the Gospel (1:11–13; 3:36; 5:24–29; 10:27–29).
